China Science and Technology Press / Popular Science Press was established in 1956. It is a comprehensive and large-scale publishing house about science and technology in China. The press is under guidance of  China’s Association for Science and Technology with a long history. The press publishes many kinds of titles on science and technology each year.

In general, China Science and Technology Press publishes and distributes popular science books, academic works, textbooks and learning materials on natural science, engineering technology as well as social science. It also publishes audiovisual materials, CD-com and electronic publications. The press publishes two popular science magazines, Knowledge is Power, Grand Sight of Science. 

The press has established a high level and experienced editorial group, efficiency administering people and a strong distributing term. So far, over ten thousand verities of popular science books and academic works have been printed, which is up to 4 billion copies. In the recent ten years, more than one hundred titles were awarded prizes in the country or abroad. The press goes in for buying and selling copyrights with foreign counterparts, and has published many valuable translation books on science and technology. In recent years, China Science and Technology Press has paid attention to the integrating development between traditional publishing and digital technology, and made an effort to build a group publishing organization with affluent kinds publishing resources on different digital platforms.
